Church in Thy House

The mode by which This Grace Bible Churches gathers together.

The church is the believers

TGBC consists of saved believers in the Church, the Body of Christ. Church in Thy House describes believers gathering house to house to study the King James Bible rightly divided, proclaim the Gospel of Christ, pray, and edify one another.

And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:Philemon 1:2 KJB

House to house instruction

And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,Acts 20:20 KJB

A house serves the gathering. The building is not the church. This mode of gathering does not create a separate denomination or an additional governing Order.

Begin with the Gospel and the Word

Begin a gathering with a clear understanding of the Gospel of Christ. Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJB, then study the audience and context of each passage according to 2 Timothy 2:15 KJB.

The Gospel of Christ · 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJB

Christ died for our sins.
He was buried.
He rose again the third day.

Salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Trust His death for your sins, His burial, and His resurrection.

Religious membership, water baptism, giving, and works cannot earn salvation.

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.Ephesians 2:8-9 KJB
